Yoo In Na made another thoughtful donation to help hearing impaired children.
On September 3, the nonprofit Cochlea of Love released a statement: “On August 27, actress Yoo In Na donated the fees for cochlear implant surgery and speech rehabilitation treatment for a 2-year-old child who lived in Seoul National University was added to Bundang Hospital. “
Cochlea of Love provides cochlear implants and hearing aids to children with hearing loss and helps them adapt to society. The organization also runs public education programs.
The child was originally diagnosed with hearing loss after their newborn hearing test and had used a hearing aid. However, due to a sudden sensorineural hearing loss, the child had to undergo cochlear implantation.
The child’s mother shared, “I felt a lot of pressure regarding this surgery due to our financial troubles overlapping with COVID-19, but I am so happy to have received this surgery thanks to the donation from Yoo In Na. Us will continue to diligently receive speech rehabilitation therapy so that my child can hear the beautiful sounds of our world, like Yoo In Na’s voice, to their heart’s content. “
This donation marks the fifth time that Yoo In Na has helped a child undergo cochlear implant surgery. The four previous children are currently in speech rehabilitation therapy and Yoo In Na plans to support eight more children under the same circumstances.
Last year, Yoo In Na made her first donation of 30 million won (approximately $ 25,200) to Cochlea of Love and has donated more than 130 million won (approximately $ 109,100) since then.
