In addition to the crazy amount of feature and voice work that Chung has gotten in the way in recent years, she has also found time to play in some of the most entertaining genre series in recent years. Between 2012 and 2016, she appeared in the role of Mulan in a dozen episodes of ABC’s fairytale deconstruction. There was once, and brought her talents to the Fox network Gotham during the third season of this series “Mad City” arch. Chung has been playing recently The talented, a Fox series produced in collaboration with Marvel Television and tangentially related to that produced by Fox X-Men Films. In it, Chung Clarice Fong, also known as Blink, portrayed a mutant with the power of teleportation. Though well received, the series was an unfortunate victim of Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox’s television and film assets, and was canceled in 2019 after two seasons, about a month after the contract was signed.
However, an actress with Chung’s talent has never been unemployed for too long. You will soon be able to see her as Ji-Ah, a nursing student with dark secrets Lovecraft Land, the original HBO series, which is a co-production by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw manufacturing houses (via HBO). The series is expected to premiere later this year. Also on tap is a role in The outsider, a robbery film by Renny Harlin, an experienced action director with Pierce Brosnan, Tim Roth and Nick Cannon. The film is also set to debut in late 2020, though no official release date has yet been set.
The high-profile parts seem to have been stacking up for Jamie Chung lately, and it’s no wonder since she is one of the hardest working women in Hollywood. We wouldn’t be too surprised to see her bend on Tinseltown’s A list very soon, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
