The cast of “Mystic Pop-Up Bar” spoke about their love of drama, their characters and what to look out for before their premiere.
A press conference for the cast of the “Mystic Pop-Up Bar” took place on May 18 on YouTube. Hwang Jung Eum, Choi won young, Lee Joon HyukJung Da Eun and director Jeon Chang Geun were present during the conference Yook Sungjae couldn’t join his cast members since he went to the military on May 11th.
Based on a popular webtoon, the “Mystic Pop-Up Bar” tells the story of a mysterious person Pojangmacha (Outdoor drinking place) run by a bad-tempered woman named Wol Joo (Hwang Jung Eum), an innocent part-time employee named Han Kang Bae (BTOBYook Sungjae) and a former after-death detective known as Chief Gwi (Choi Won Young) who visits customers in their dreams to help solve their problems.
Hwang Jung Eum’s character Wol Joo is a woman who has to relieve the complaints of 100,000 people to pay the price for the mistakes of her previous life. Yook Sung Jae plays Han Kang Bae, the character who became a part-time worker to improve his habit of confessing his inner thoughts to who he comes into physical contact with.
Meanwhile, Choi Won Young’s character, Chief Gwi, is sent to manage the poor performance of the business, and Lee Joon Hyuk plays the grim reaper Yeom, who passes the messages on to the underworld. Jung Da Eun plays the role of Kang Yeo Rin, the store’s VIP security guard.
During the press conference, director Jeon Chang Geun spoke about the drama and webtoon that inspired it. He said, “I’m sorry for those who loved the original webtoon, but there are some differences between the webtoon and the drama. The webtoon has long descriptions of what happened in each episode, but the drama focuses more on that how the main characters control these events. “
He continued: “I think the actors are all good for their roles. I worked very comfortably because they did such a good job. The actors, immersed in the characters of the script, all worked hard. You will be able to see some pages of it that you would normally not be able to see in other dramas. “
The actors showed their love for drama. Hwang Jung Eum said, “I joined because I loved the script. The director guided me very well on the set, and the more I worked on this drama, the more I thought I made the right choice. I put all my efforts into this drama. “
Yook Sungjae interfered through a video and apologized for not being able to attend the press conference due to his military service. He promised to meet the audience in the first episode of the drama. Hwang Jung Eum revealed that she wished him all the best for his recruitment.
