The cast of “Private Lives” attended a press conference on October 7th!
The new JTBC drama is set in the current age where people share, steal, and fabricate their private lives. It’s about scammers using all of their techniques to expose the nation’s most important “private life”, and it’s that of the girls’ generation Seohyun, Go Kyung Pyo, Kim Hyo Jin, Kim Young Min, and more. At the press conference, director Nam Gun promised that the show would combine a variety of genres, including thriller, melodrama, comedy, and capers.
The drama is Go Kyung Pyo’s first since returning from military service, and at the event the actor thanked everyone who waited for him. On the subject of why he decided to take on his role, Go Kyung Pyo said, “When I first saw this project, I was really taken with the plot of the character Joo Eun.”
On the show, Go Kyung Pyo plays the spy Lee Jung Hwan, who hides his identity by pretending to be a regular employee in a large company. He opens his heart to Seohyun’s character Cha Joo Eun, who is completely unaware of her own “private life” as a cheater. Cha Joo Eun is the daughter of two cheaters (played by Sung Keun Park and Song Sun Mi.) And she learned the tricks of the trade from them.
Seohyun said, “When I first read the script for Private Lives, it was so interesting that I decided I really didn’t want to miss the show. It was really exciting because it’s drama that is entertaining dealing with an unrealistic true reality. Each of the characters are so charming and have such strong personalities, that’s why I was excited about it. I was concerned about how to portray my character in a charming way, but I was also very excited tries to highlight the audacity in my own personality to play the character. “
Even before the premiere, drama fans were enthusiastic about the chemistry between Go Kyung Pyo and Seohyun and called the couple “Pangyo Newlyweds”.
Go Kyung Pyo shared that he hopes their performance together on the drama will make people feel the same as they had when they saw them together. He said with a laugh, “We’re having a lot of fun filming so I think it will turn out well.”
When asked to describe his co-star Seohyun’s charming traits, he said, “Seohyun is serious and prudent.” He described how she put a lot of thought and effort into the project and her character. “She’s very happy on the set with no signs of a difficult time,” he said. “And when she then dives into her role, she shows another side of herself. She is very cool and I think I have to learn from her. I was very dependent on her during filming and she helps me. “
Seohyun thanked Go Kyung Pyo and described him as someone who is very considerate and caring. “He helps me get rid of my nerves and gives me a lot of ideas,” she said. “Because he’s so considerate, I was able to relax while immersing myself in the role of Joo Eun.”
The cast was also asked about their audience hopes. Seohyun said, “I don’t think we’ve ever brought up the subject of ratings. Instead of thinking about ratings, we have fun filming together. I hope it all goes well.”
Go Kyung Pyo added, “As I return through this drama, I’m not sure which reviews are currently considered good reviews. I hope it can help people alleviate the boredom of everyday life,” he laughed.
