“#ALIVE” is a “survival thriller” film about the sudden onset of a mysterious illness in which infected people attack other people. As the disease spreads rapidly and gets out of control in Seoul, survivors are trapped in their homes alone, with no access to cellular data, WiFi, SMS, or phone calls. Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye will appear in the film as Joon Woo and Yoo Bin, two survivors isolated in the middle of a now dangerous city.
Park Shin Hye described her character as a balanced person with strong survival instincts. “Yoo Bin is both composed and extremely detailed,” said the actress. “She is a character who calmly thinks about how she can survive.”
In newly released photos from the upcoming film, Yoo Bin stands by the window and holds binoculars in her hand while assessing the situation outside. In one of the photos, she appears to be horrified by something she sees outside her window, and seems to be trying to communicate with other survivors via a walkie-talkie.
Director Jo Il Hyung had nothing but praise for Park Shin Hye, who not only breathed life into the role of Yoo Bin with her acting, but also shot difficult action scenes for the film. Park Shin Hye also reportedly showed strong chemistry with co-star Yoo Ah In when she portrayed two characters struggling to survive together.
Jo Il Hyung commented: “[Park Shin Hye] is an actress who knows no boundaries. “He explained why he chose her for the role and remembered,” I thought Park Shin Hye could bring the special qualities of Yoo Bin to life. “
“#ALIVE” should premiere at the end of June. In the meantime, you can watch the film’s first trailer here!
