The “I-LAND”The ranks were shaken again when the participants entered the third test!
In Mnet’s new show “I-LAND” the ultra-modern training center is only available to 12 trainees. Instead, the other trainees practice in the “floor” facilities and separate the “I-LANDER” from the “grounders”. Depending on the results of each test, the trainees and producers agree which trainees to climb on I-LAND or on the “floor”.
Last week the I-LANDER completed their second test with the execution of BTSs “fire”. On the other hand, the “Grounders” would not be able to play the same song if the I-LANDER all avoided the elimination.
In the aftermath of July 17, it became known that the I-LANDERS had an average score of 78, which means that four I-LANDERS would be eliminated and the Grounders would perform.
Following the performance of the Grounder, the six best I-LANDER rankings were announced. K was the first with 88 points, Heeseung got 83 points, Sunghoon got 80 points, Ta-ki got 75 points, Sunoo got 71 points and EJ got 70 points. As the first place, K received a ticket to save someone from leaving.
The I-LANDER then voted on which four members would leave I-LAND. The results were Yoonwon (11 votes), Taeyong (10 votes), Sunoo (8 votes) and Jungwon (5 votes). K used his ticket to save Jungwon from leaving, and Ta-ki was selected with 5 votes to be eliminated instead.
K said, “I chose Jungwon not only because he is talented, but because he is someone whose spirit and thoughts I respect. I wanted to help my friend.” K was surprised, however, when Ta-ki was eliminated instead and himself apologized to him with tears in his eyes. Ta-ki said, “K didn’t deliberately eliminate me, so I’ll go back to the” floor “and work hard.”
The producers then chose which grounders would rise to I-LAND: Youngbin, Kyungmin, Jay and Jake.
The second part of the episode dealt with the third test, which was a unit performance. The members were divided into singing and dancing units, in which certain members acted as representatives for their entire team.
The trainees were also subjected to an interim evaluation in which the units were defined. The I-LAND vocal unit was Geonu and Heeseung, and the I-LAND dance unit was K, Jungwon and Sunghoon. The Grounder vocal unit was Sunoo and Daniel and the Grounder vocal unit was Ni-ki, Nicholas and Jaeho.
The last performances this week were the two vocal units that sang BTS’s “Butterfly” (I-LANDERs) and “Save Me” (Grounder).
