When Mad Max: Fury Street When viewers came out, they were intrigued by the structure of the world and the characters of the film, which was no more interesting than Charlize Theron’s role as Emperor Furiosa. George Miller has plans to make a prequel film about Furiosa, and as the celebrated filmmaker told The New York Times, he wanted Theron back in the role, so much so that he considered giving it one The Irishman Makeover:
“For the longest time, I thought we could only use CGize for Charlize, but I don’t think we’re almost there. Despite the brave attempts at ‘The Irishman’, I think there is still an uncanny valley. Everyone is about to solve it, especially Japanese video game designers, but I think there is still a pretty wide valley. “
The Irishman As a Martin Scorsese film that used CGI a lot, a lot of advertising was done. Not to show superheroes fighting aliens or wizards flying on brooms, but to make the protagonists of Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro appear younger and older at various points in the film.
The experiment was largely a success, but there were still some complaints, such as the fact that the actors themselves acted like old men in their younger scenes. And, as Miller notes, even the aging process was not so perfect that it could escape the dreaded “scary valley view”. In this case, a computer-generated face lacks the necessary nuances of facial expressions to appear completely real.
The same kind of aging process was also used in Marvel films to showcase younger versions of Tony Stark and Nick Fury. Again, the attempts, although largely successful, are not entirely error-free. So it makes sense that Miller, who went to the desert to really film all of the Mad Max stunts instead of relying on CGI, doesn’t want his actors to age if the result is unrealistic.
Now that Charlize Theron is out, the question is who will play Furiosa in her solo film. Much of the figure’s appeal was the mix of strength and vulnerability that it showed and that Theron masterfully portrayed. Rumor has it that Taylor-Joy is in the running to play Furiosa, but there have been no casting confirmations so far.
The Furiosa prequel is not the only film Miller has planned. A fourth continuation of the parent Crazy Max The franchise is also being written, and Tom Hardy will return as tacit but kind-hearted Max Rockatansky. Given how popular Mad Max: Fury Road is and often referred to as the greatest action film of the new millennium, it makes sense that the studio wants to expand the franchise as much as possible and possibly even build a cinematic universe.
Miller is currently preparing to shoot his next film. Three thousand years of yearning, starring Edris Elba and Tilda Swinton, during Hardy’s most recent film Capone made his online debut, where he played the role of the infamous gangster Al Capone in the final stages of his life.
