Lee Yoo Ri is known as a professional who offers her everything in every role and performance. Even on KBS 2TV’s show “Fun-staurant”, she suffered an arm injury that worried the fans.
She played the character Ji Eun Soo in Channel A’s Friday-Saturday drama “Lie After Lie,” which aired its final episode on October 24th. From scenes depicting domestic violence to the risk of being murdered, there were a number of intense moments involved in taking on this role.
In a phone interview with Newsen, Lee shared with Yoo Ri details of a time when she almost encountered another injury while filming. She said, “There was one scene where my head was hit while I was fighting over powdered milk in prison. Not only was I surprised, but the staff were surprised too. When there’s an action scene, we rehearse a lot so we don’t get hurt. Even if we are careful, sometimes you will still get hurt. It reminded me to be even more careful. “
Lee Yoo Ri also commented on her experiences with colleagues Yeon Jung Hoon. The two had already worked together as a couple in 2003 on the series “Yellow Handkerchief”.
Their strong friendship naturally resulted in great chemistry both on and off screen. Lee Yoo Ri explained that because they are so close together, the two talked about serving as siblings for their next project to really capture their dynamic.
“Lie After Lie” started with a 1.2 percent audience rating and ended on a bang, hitting 8.2 percent on the last episode. When asked what could have been the factors that contributed to the drama’s success, Lee Yoo Ri attributed the cliff temples at the end of each episode and the mix of genres, particularly mellow and suspense.
When asked about her selection of work, she mentioned that after a dark one she is more likely to work on a lighter project and vice versa. She explained that switching back and forth was a way for her to stress and a way to get excited about work.
