Based on a Webtoon, “The Uncanny Counter” is about demon hunters, so-called “counters” with supernatural powers, who disguise themselves as employees of a noodle restaurant to find and defeat demons who have come to earth in search of eternal life.
The newly released stills include Do Ha Na (Kim Sejeong), the best human radar among counters, with a 100 percent accurate detection rate for evil spirits, and Choo Mae Ok (Yeom Hye Ran), the only counter with healing abilities.
In the stills, Do Ha Na and Choo Mae Ok stand side by side and cross their arms in a similar way. With their extraordinary perception and empathy, the two women lead the elite rookie counter So Moon (Jo Byeong Gyu) and train him to improve his skills. Do Ha Na and Choo Mae Ok in particular become particularly violent in front of demons when they are aimed at them with lasers.
Kim Sejeong and Yeom Hye Ran both impressed with their passion for acting on location. Under the instructions of the martial arts director, the two carefully memorized their movements and repeatedly practiced their action scenes in order to perfectly master the difficult maneuvers and convey a realistic scenario.
One aspect to look forward to in the upcoming drama is the portrayal of female heroes at the forefront. With their psychometric and healing powers, Do Ha Na and Choo Mae Ok create exciting excitement as they defeat demons.
The production team said: “Kim Sejeong and Yeom Hye Ran impressed the staff on set not only with their difficult action scenes like the elevator fight and the car chase, but also with their perfect representation of the emotions of Do Ha Na and Choo Mae Ok. The production team also asked viewers to be excited about the passionate acting of the two women in the drama.
The premiere of “The Uncanny Counter” will take place on November 28th at 10:30 pm. KST.
