Jo In Sung‘s New Movie “Escape From Mogadishu” Has Hit The Korean Box Office Strongly!
On August 3, the Korean Film Council announced that by 4pm that day, Escape from Mogadishu had officially surpassed 1 million moviegoers. The film was originally released on July 28th, which means it only took seven days to hit the milestone.
It is noteworthy that “Escape from Mogadishu” is the first Korean film of 2021 to attract over 1 million moviegoers. The performance is all the more remarkable when you consider that the Korean government recently put metropolitan Seoul under the strictest social distancing guidelines, which has undoubtedly had an impact on the box office.
Jo In Sung stars in honor of the film that breaks the 1 million mark. Kim Yun Seok, Heo Joon Ho, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim So Jin, Jung Man Sik, Kim Jae Hwa, and Kyung Hye Park posed for celebratory photos thanking the moviegoers for showing so much love to Escape from Mogadishu.
“Escape from Mogadishu” is based on real events and is a film about the escape of South Korean and North Korean embassy employees who were stranded in the middle of the Somali civil war. The film is directed by Ryu Seung Wan, the director of the successful films “The Battleship Island”, “Veteran”, “The Berlin File” and “The Unjust”.
