IU has made a generous donation to provide equipment for healthcare workers as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Korea has seen a resurgence of COVID-19 cases this month, and IU made a donation to help frontline nurses. IU donated approximately 4,600 cooling vests valued at approximately 100 million won (approximately US $ 84,410) through the Community Chest of Korea, according to the Korean Nurses Association.
The Korean Nurses Association announced that the cooling vests donated by IU will be sent to various test stations and medical facilities across the country to help nurses who are overheated in their protective gear while collecting test samples and caring for COVID-19 patients. The organization has been sending necessary items to government-designated hospitals and test centers since June to help fight the pandemic.
This is not the first time IU has donated to support healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19. She previously donated 200 million won (approximately $ 168,820) in February.
