Lee Dong Gun could be back on the big screen soon, for the first time in 13 years.
On May 28, Star News reported that Lee Dong Gun was cast in the upcoming film “Come Back Home” (working title). The film tells the story of a man looking for his kidnapped child. The character is described as someone who became the head of the household at a young age.
It was reported earlier this year by the same outlet Kim Young Kwang was cast as the man looking for his child, although the report was not confirmed by his agency. The Star News report of May 28 states that Lee Dong Gun and Kim Young Kwang will play two characters that face each other in the film.
Later that day, FNC Entertainment told MyDaily: “Lee Dong Gun has received an offer for the film” Come Back Home “and is in talks.” They made it clear: “It is currently not at a stage where we could say whether he will be in the film or not.”
When Lee Dong Gun takes the role, this will be his first film to hit theaters since the 2007 Love Now film. In 2015 he made a Korean-Chinese film titled “Encounter” with T-ara Jiyeon, but it wasn’t released in theaters.
“Come Back Home” is directed by Kim Tae Yong, who has made films such as “Set Me Free” and “Misbehavior”. It is planned to start filming this summer.
The news of Lee Dong Gun considering this role came on the same day that he announced his divorce after three years of marriage to Jo Yoon Hee.
