BTOBEunkwang was named an honorary ambassador for his hometown of Yongin!
On November 12, Eunkwang received his letter of appointment as Yongin’s Honorary Ambassador in the mayor’s office. He commented: “It is a great honor to be named Ambassador of Honor for Yongin, my hometown where I grew up. I will do everything I can to make Yongin known.”
Baek Goon Ki, the Mayor of Yongin, said, “Seo Eunkwang was born in Yongin and graduated from elementary, middle and high school here. During his school days he consistently took part in the Yongin Youth Dance / Singing Contest and won prizes. He became someone who fulfilled his dream of becoming a singer and now represents Yongin. He was named an Honorary Ambassador for Yongin because his story of perseverance and hard work to achieve his dream of becoming the leader of a popular group is consistent with Yongin’s image of trying new things and developing. “
He continued, “I am delighted to have named Eunkwang of BTOB, who represents K-Pop, as Yongin’s Honorary Ambassador. I look forward to his positive role in conveying a message of hope to all youth in Yongin. “
For the next two years, Eunkwang will be primarily involved in promoting the city’s politics and revitalizing its festivals, culture and local economy. It will also promote the city’s image by promoting its tourist destinations such as the Holy Land of St. Kim Daegeon and Yongin Agriculture Theme Park.
Eunkwang also went to his personal Instagram account to share the news and express his excitement. He wrote his post: “Hello, this is Yongin’s son BTOBs Seo Eunkwang. It is a great honor to be an Honorary Ambassador for Yongin, the one I was born and raised in. It is all thanks to Melody [BTOB’s fans]. Please give a lot of love to our yongin. “
After his discharge from military service last June, Eunkwang released a solo mini-album and appeared in numerous variety shows and musicals. He is currently preparing for BTOB 4U’s debut on November 16.
