The supernatural theme often finds a place in K-dramas, sometimes with an entire world dedicated to it. However, there are some dramas that take place in an ordinary world with a touch of fantasy – or science fiction – in the form of superpowers owned by the (main) characters.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of dramas with characters with supernatural powers in an ordinary setting.

1. “It is psychometric”
Got7‘S Jinyoung Stars in this thriller as Lee Ahn, a psychometric young man who crosses with Yoon Jae In during an investigation, played by Shin Ye Eunwho happens to have a dark secret that may not be revealed regardless of the cost. Psychometry is the ability to read a person’s or object’s secrets with a simple touch. Lee Ahn doesn’t have his skills under control and with his clumsy personality he often gets into trouble. Jinyoung’s hands received a lot of attention due to the nature of the superpower that his character possesses, and he studied his role meticulously to correctly demonstrate his abilities in a natural and realistic manner.

Dong Baek, played by Yoo Seung Hois a talented detective with a fleeting temper who works side by side with Han Sun Mi (played by) on a serial killer case Lee Se Young), A confident criminal profiler with an unconventional attitude. Yoo Seung Ho’s gift is reading people’s memories, which is very practical during his investigation and even makes him a certified clairvoyant. In addition, his power enables him to empathize with the victims by feeling their pain, which gives him further insight into solving his cases.

2 p.m. Taecyeon Stars in this drama as Kim Tae Pyung, a man who can predict a person’s death by a simple look in the eye. However, his powers are futile when he meets detective Seo Joon Young (played by) Lee Yeon Hee) who is investigating a two-decade-old murder case. Tae Pyung was born with his prophetic gift and can see the last moments before a person dies. He also gets visions of his own death, and Joon Young is the only person whose death he can’t see, no matter how hard he tries to close his eyes with her.

Park Bo Young completed another memorable role as Do bong soon, a woman with powerful physical abilities, who she uses in her job as a bodyguard for Ahn Min Hyuk (played by Park Hyung Sik), a CEO of a gaming company that continues to receive threats. Do Bong Soon’s superpower is hereditary. Although practical in many situations, it comes with one condition: only use it forever. Any use of her powers for personal gain or mischief could result in her losing them forever.

The title says it all: Shin Se Kyung Stars like Choi Eun Seol, a girl who sees smells. She loses her parents in a gruesome serial murder and runs for her life just to be hit by a car and fall into a coma. She wakes up six months later and finds that her left eye has turned green and she can now see smells. Basically, the smells manifest themselves in colors and shapes, making them understandable.

6. “With you tomorrow”
Yoo So Joon (Lee Je Hoon) is a successful company boss who can take the subway in time. Stuck between the present and the future, Song Ma Rin (Shin Min Ah) enters his life unexpectedly and he does everything in his power to turn his life around with her. So Joon’s ability to travel through time really allows viewers to immerse themselves in the intertwined levels of this action, which goes back and forth until the record is finally made clear.

This drama has not one but three characters who share the same superpower. Suzy, Lee Jong Suk, and Jung Hae In As Nam Hong Joo, Jung Jae Chan and Han Woo Tak are people from different walks of life who can all see the future in their dreams. The three characters unite as a reporter, prosecutor and police officer to prevent their threatening visions from leaving dreamland.

8th. “Another Oh Hae Young”
This popular drama plays Shinhwa Eric as Park Do Kyung, a top sound director for a film company. Suddenly he gets a premonition, and then he is with two women who have the same name Oh Hae Young and also work in the same company, but live a completely different life. With an Oh Hae Young as his ex and the other as his new love interest, Do Kyung keeps getting visions of the future, which confuses him.

If it is not one of the most famous dramas and super powers that can be seen on our small screens! Gong Hyo Jin plays the role of Tae Gong Sil, a woman who can see the dead. Her cursed gift makes every passing spirit seek their help to close and reach the afterlife. This uncontrollable force causes her great trauma until she crosses with the arrogant CEO Joo Joong Won, played by So Ji Sub. Joong Won appears to “deactivate” her gift when he is near her, causing Gong Sil to stay by his side at all times. Certainly it must be painful to be followed every day without the ability to stop it, but Gong Sil has achieved more than just a curse lift by meeting Joong Won.
