GOT7is JAY B, Jinyoung, Youngjae, Mark, Jackson, Yugyeom and BamBam are no longer label colleagues after their departure from JYP Entertainment, but their bond as a group lives on, as they showed their audience with their single “ENCORE”. Members joined various companies to pursue their solo careers and it is heartwarming to see them continue to grow in their distinctive activities.
Here is an overview of how each GOT7 member presented their individual talents this year.
1. JAY B
JAY B pulled out of his previous stage name JB when he joined H1GHR MUSIC and has since focused on his music career. He started his new solo journey with the release of Switch It Up with rapper Sokodomo. A few months later his EP release “SOMO: FUME” followed with Jay Park in his title track “B.T.W”. He also assumed “The king of the masked singers“As” Toad’s House “. Finally, on September 3rd, JAY B released “I’m Surfin ‘” as part of the “Feel the Rhythm of Korea 2” advertising campaign.
Jinyoung has signed with famous acting agency BH Entertainment and is dominating the small screen this summer thanks to his new drama.The devil judge“In which he played alongside the actor Ji Sung. His acting was praised by the drama writer Moon Yoo Suk, who praised his sincerity and seriousness in portraying the role. He also shared his new self-composed digital single “DIVE”, which was announced within hours of its scheduled release, much to the surprise and delight of his fans. He will also appear in the upcoming drama “Yumi’s cells“In which he will play the role of a popular, handsome and cute office worker.

Another member who has been involved in acting is Youngjae, who has signed with the Sublime Artist Agency. He got the lead role as Ha Ram in the musical “Midnight Sun,” which was performed from May 1st to July 25th for multinational students living together in a dormitory in Seoul. He is currently working on his album and hopes to be able to release it before the end of the year.
When his contract expired, Mark packed his things and said goodbye to his colleagues before leaving for his hometown of Los Angeles. Last February he released a collaboration track with Sanjoy called “One in a Million”. A few months later he signed with the American talent and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Mark posted his farewell on his YouTube channel before leaving Korea.
Shortly after Jackson signed a deal with JYP Entertainment, his label TEAM WANG signed a deal with the Sublime Artist Agency. This new union will cover global business including Korea and China. A few months later, Jackson blessed fans by working with rain on “MAGNETIC” as a b-side track on Rain’s latest album. Jackson then released his single, “LMLY (Leave Me Loving You),” which he performed on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Recently Jackson released an English collaboration with Internet Money entitled “Drive You Home”, for which he again demonstrated his directing skills for the music video.
Yugyeom was greeted by AOMG shortly after parting ways with JYP Entertainment. Six months later, the singer made his official debut as a soloist with his first album “Point Of View: U”, for which he chose “All Your Fault” with Gray as the title track. His pre-release track “I Want U Around” with DeVita received a lot of love as it topped the iTunes charts around the world.
BamBam is now part of the Abyss Company, home to artists such as Sunmi and Sandara Park. His new solo adventure began with the release of his very first mini-album “riBBon” and the title track of the same name. His debut was immediately received with a lot of love, as “riBBon” – both the album and the title track – topped the iTunes charts worldwide. In an exclusive interview with Soompi, BamBam spoke about his goals and aspirations for his newly discovered solo career.
